Southern Baptist missionary to Brazil, 1882-1919. Laura G. Barton was a missionary to China, 1889-94, then went to Brazil in 1895, following her marriage to Taylor. Taylor was the first pastor of the First Baptist Church, Bahia, Brazil. The Taylors and one of their daughters were killed in a hurricane in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1919.
